• The protracted wars in Somalia have left large numbers of children suffering from mental and physical illnesses, the physically effected children are able to find some care in health centers and facilities providers, unfortunately; the children suffering from mental illnesses and with the special needs do not have a specialized center that considers their psychological condition and provides them with programs to
restore psychological balance for them in order to integrate into the society.
• Hence, the idea of establishing Mustaqbal Center for Special Needs and Kindergarten came at the beginning of 01/04/2016 as the first center of its kind in Somalia that seeks to provide a suitable place and a healthy environment for the children with special needs to spend their time in an atmosphere suitable for their age, needs and desires.
• The center provides trained teachers to prepare the child socially, intellectually, cognitively, healthily, perceptually and linguistically, considering the specificity of each case and its constant need for care, rehabilitation and training, and keeping pace with the new in the field of development for the children with special needs.
Our Goals
• Rehabilitation and development of children with special needs
• Introducing families to the type of their children’s disabilities and training them to deal with
them correctly
• Helping children with special needs to overcome their disability and integrate them with their
peers of normal children
• Discovering the skills of the children with special needs and assisting them to use and develop
that skills
• Giving the children with special needs enough information of life skills, and writing and reading
skills.
• Saving the expensive treatment and care costs outside Somalia.

Our Philosophy
We believe children do not simply receive knowledge but they construct it from a variety of active environment and hands-on experience. We understand that children learn at different rates in different developmental areas. One size does not fit all. Teacher assessment of a child’s abilities is a primary factor that determines what kind of activity is selected. More emphasis should be placed on the process rather than the product of learning. Education is not a race but it is a journey.

ACCOMPANYING PROGRAMS
In addition to the systematic study, the center offers some accompanying activities and
programs, which are as follows:
• Healthcare/ routine medical checkups by the Somali pediatricians
• Nutritious meals
• Counseling sessions for the families of the children with special needs
• A well established and planned kindergarten partnered services to create an environment of inclusion and integration.
The activities and the programs of the center includes the following:
1. Care and education for the children through supervisors and teachers specialized in the field
of children with special needs.
2. Development of individual skills of the children with special needs
3. Recreational trips for the children with special needs
4. An integration programs for the children with special needs with their peer normal children
through an established kindergarten partnerships.
5. Behavior Modification sessions
6. Speech therapy for the children with special needs

Mustaqbal Center for Special Needs is a center that mainly focusses on the children with special needs which was established in April 2016 with two sections: Kindergarten and Special Needs.
